Russ’s accolades include conforming to an ongoing international DJ schedule, label owner/manager, artist manager, seasoned compilation compiler, producer, festival organiser, radio broadcaster… Oh, and founder/promoter of “The Brighton Jazz Rooms” and “Brighton Jazz Bop” – two of the longest running club/live nights on the planet!

Mainstay of the Brighton Club/Music scene and legendary DJ/Broadcaster Russ Dewbury brings his acclaimed Jazz Rooms meets Soulful Strut event to Komedia Studio on Saturday November 11th for a Party in celebration of the good groove. With flavours from both iconic club nights Russ, guest selector Justin P and the Jazz Rooms Live Percussion section will be supplying the dance floor heat. Russ’s Brighton Jazz Rooms night is rightly held up as an iconic UK club session having run bi weekly for over 20 years in different basement venues around the city. Moving on to the Green Door Store Dewbury enjoyed a decade long monthly residency with his Soulful Strut club session. Attracting a whole range of ages, colours and creeds and fuelled by a desire to dance to quality underground music these nights are timeless! Just as popular in 2023 as they were when Dewbury opened the Jazz rooms in 1987!
